Hi YOU!

WE are reaching out our hands - across the time and space that separates us...
We miss seeing you in person! The time will come round when we can gather together in our public parks and celebrate the magic of the everyday through the heightened realm of live performance. Until then, during this bizarre and fraught time - when we are not able to perform our primary service - we’ve been experimenting with new ways of connecting and creating.
And we’ve been reflecting on our purpose and our path…

Our work is and always will be about CONNECTION.

Connection to one’s self and senses
Connection to the environment
Connection to others
Connection to the past - through the stories we tell
Connection to the future - through the worlds we imagine
For We, each audience member is a player on our stage and a member of our crew.
There’s no WE without YOU.

Let’s connect.

What we’ve been up to

Well, the global pandemic certainly changed our plans for Spring 2020! We were poised to celebrate our 20th anniversary with an epic adventure through Golden Gate Park with Alice and the creatures of Wonderland. Alice’s adventures are now bookmarked for spring 2021 and we hope to see you then and there! In the meantime, we’ve been exploring new directions for our creativity.
Check out our experiments with new-to-We media!

The Odyssey Audio Drama

Our first radio drama! Originally performed while sailing the San Francisco Bay aboard the historic scow schooner Alma in autumn of 2011, we bring you the audio of The Odyssey! Sailing past sirens, anchoring off Angel Island, and singing sea chanteys, join us to awaken the muse as we enjoy this classic tale.

Wonder Storytime with Alice and Friends

Our very first audiobook! In order to introduce you to our What Alice Found There cast, we present Lewis Carroll’s original works narrated by our talented team. Reacquaint yourself with the enchanting world of Wonderland and travel through the Looking-Glass with us.

And now… our first film!

CAESAR MAXIMUS

In an exploration of new mediums for our work, we filmed our production of Caesar Maximus at the Music Concourse with the goal of creating a brand new piece that takes advantage of the unique capabilities of film.

We proudly present: CAESAR MAXIMUS.
Your donation of any size grants you premiere access to the film!

This experiment in visual storytelling further develops the thematic elements of our original adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic. In collaboration with Tracy Martin, long time friend and videographer of our work, director Ava Roy uses the aesthetic language of the live production to create a landscape of metaphor investigating exploitation of power, the danger of mob mentality and collective violence, as well as elevating the presence of the female characters beyond what is found on the page in the original text of Julius Caesar.

Be the first to see it! All donors to our WE CONNECT campaign receive premiere access.
