We Players presents our new production King Fool at multiple unique venues throughout the greater Bay Area. With a focus on themes of death and dying, loss, grief, and healing, each performance will be immediately followed by a facilitated conversation with performers, site hosts, and audience members. These conversations will inform future iterations of King Fool, as the King and his fool continue to wander through time and space, telling old stories, playing all the parts, reliving their miseries and finding humor in the face of grief and loss. The two-person performance features We Players Founding Artistic Director Ava Roy and Associate Artist John Hadden. The two collaborated earlier in 2014 when they played Lear and Cordelia/Fool and co-directed a full production of King Lear in New York state and they continued their exploration of this epic text as part of We Players’ Presenting Series.
