Salubrious sea breezes and impressive 360-degree views of San Francisco Bay have attracted many visitors and residents to the Bulb. The scenic peninsula and former landfill is a part of McLaughlin Eastshore State Park, located on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay directly opposite the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge.
An amphitheater provides a venue for community gatherings, a boxing gym is available for vigorous exercise, and a library has been established for the intellectual betterment of young and old alike. Tourists are welcomed at a Visitor’s Center at the main crossroads of the hiking trails, many of which- including the Yellow Brick Road- were built and maintained by residents.
