Events are site specific. We transform public spaces with art, and encourage awareness of and interaction with the environment.

Choice

The position of viewership is self-determined. Audience members may choose and change the perspective from which they view our events.

Movement

During performances, the audience must navigate the space, interacting with the world of the play, together; conventional barriers are blurred between audience and performers.

Community

We strive to collaborate with local groups and other artists working with shared themes. We aim to catalyze conversation amongst the various communities involved in a given space.

We Players works with the inherent energies and themes of each performance site. Using the spectacular natural world and architecture of cultural and historical landmarks, as well as sculptures, courtyards, hallways, stairwells, fountains, lawns, and pedestrian through ways, WE catalyze new ways of seeing and experiencing both theatre and the world. It is part of our mission to stimulate audiences to think about the delicacy and intricacies of their immediate physical environment – our presence in a specific landscape helps raise awareness about the site and the associated environmental, social, and political issues.

Using classical texts to discuss current issues in local landscapes, WE invite the community to engage fully and awaken to the spectacular world around us.
